Hello and welcome to The Moving Curve. I’m Rukmini, a data journalist based in Chennai. Every night on this mini-cast, I consider one question around the novel coronavirus epidemic in India. Tonight I’m considering this one — what does someone who has studied misdiagnosis in India think about how good our covid-19 diagnosis is?

Jishnu Das et al’s 2010–11 study in rural MP and urban Delhi is here.

We talked a bit about how little small private providers have featured in the current discussion, and that led Dr. Das to talk about his hope that this moment finally produces some truly novel thinking and action.

Thank you for listening. This episode was edited by Anand Krishnamoorthi. Tomorrow — what long-term impact can we expect the pandemic to have on today’s children?
